From opening the app to making your first song request — here is everything you need to know about using MuuzBox.
Visit muuzbox.com on any device with a modern browser. There is no app to download — MuuzBox runs as a progressive web app (PWA) directly in your browser. On Android and iOS, you can install it to your home screen for a native app experience with offline support.
When you first open MuuzBox, you land on the audio player. This is your personal music hub where you can play local files from your device, stream curated playlists, or connect your Spotify account.
Every DJ and venue on MuuzBox has their own channel — a unique page where their audience can interact with them. Tap the Make Request button in the audio player to see a list of available channels.
Each channel shows the venue name and cover image. Tap a channel to connect to it. You will be taken to the request page where you can browse the DJ's jukebox and send song requests.
Channels are identified by simple URLs like muuzbox.com/#brooklyn-bar, and venues often display a QR code that takes you directly to their channel.
Once you are on a channel, you see the DJ's jukebox — a searchable list of tracks organised by genre. Browse categories like Afrobeat, Amapiano, R&B, or Hip-Hop, or use the search bar to find a specific track.
Tap on a track to send a request. The DJ sees your request instantly on their dashboard, along with your display name and avatar. They can accept it and add it to their queue, or decline it if it does not fit the current set.
You can also chat directly with the DJ and other guests through the live chat feature, making the whole experience more social and interactive.
MuuzBox has a feature called Room Pulse that lets you tell the DJ how you are feeling. Choose from four moods: Energetic, Party, Chill, or Romantic. The DJ sees mood data from the entire crowd in real time, displayed as percentages and energy trends on their dashboard.
This gives DJs genuine crowd feedback instead of guessing. If 70% of the room is feeling Energetic, the DJ knows to keep the tempo up. If the mood shifts to Chill, they can adjust accordingly.
Beyond live events, MuuzBox is a music discovery platform. The Curated Playlists section features hand-picked collections from real DJs and curators — not algorithms. Browse playlists by genre, mood, or curator and stream them directly in the built-in audio player.
The audio player supports multiple sources: load music from a folder on your phone or computer using the file picker, stream curated playlists from the MuuzBox CDN, or connect your Spotify Premium account to search and play from Spotify's catalogue.
The player includes crossfade between tracks, an audio visualiser that reacts to the music, and lock screen controls so you can manage playback without opening the app.
If you are a DJ or venue manager, MuuzBox gives you a professional dashboard to manage your music, audience, and events.
View incoming song requests, accept or reject them, manage your up-next playlist, and monitor crowd mood — all in one place.
Real-time mood analytics from your audience. See what percentage of the crowd wants Energetic, Party, Chill, or Romantic vibes.
Communicate directly with your audience. Announce upcoming tracks, respond to requests, or build hype for the next set.
Generate a QR code for your channel. Display it at your venue so guests can scan and instantly connect to make requests.
Admin users can manage venue profiles, configure channel settings, set request rate limits, and control who can access the platform.
Run music games like Jukebox Showdown and Name That Tune to keep your crowd engaged during quieter periods or special events.
You can use MuuzBox without creating an account. An anonymous account is generated automatically when you visit a channel. If you want to save your preferences and appear with a custom name, you can sign in with Google.
MuuzBox is free to use for music lovers. DJs and venue managers can access basic features for free. Premium features like advanced analytics and venue management tools are available through a subscription plan.
Yes. MuuzBox is a progressive web app that works on Safari for iOS. You can add it to your home screen from the Share menu for a full-screen experience. Some features like the File System Access API are limited on iOS, but streaming, requests, and chat all work.
No. Spotify integration is optional. You can use MuuzBox without Spotify to play curated playlists and local files. If you connect a Spotify Premium account, you can search and stream Spotify tracks within the MuuzBox player.
DJs sign in with their Google account, and a channel is created for them automatically. They can customise their channel name, upload a banner image, organise their jukebox by genre, and share the channel URL or QR code with their audience.
The MuuzBox audio player works offline for locally loaded music files. Features that require a network connection — song requests, chat, mood tracking, and streaming — need an active internet connection.
Curated playlists stream at up to 320kbps for subscribed users and 128kbps for free users. Local file playback uses the original file quality. The audio player uses the Web Audio API for crossfade and visualisation without compromising quality.
